Maintaining a Healthy Vegetarian Lifestyle

Low key this pretzel is probably the best pretzel I’ve had in my life from Ramsey’s Trailside in Loveland, Ohio. All jokes aside though… I became vegetarian at a VERY young age. I remember being at my friend’s house for NYE in kindergarten or maybe first grade who happened to be Jewish (and did not eat pig products). Her parents had asked me what sounded good for dinner and I replied with, “Pork chops!!!”. As ridiculous as that sounds, it was in that instant that I put two and two together since my parents had been lying to me to make sure I got my protein in. A few years down the line, my parents also signed me up for farm camp where we milked the goats and cows, walked the goats, made goat cheese, and really just did whatever needed to be done around the farm. I have the best memories from it and have always been the biggest animal lover ever, so I’ve just stuck with being a vegetarian ever since. My parents had no clue what to do with my diet, but since I’ve lived on my own for 6 years now I’ve figured out some go-to protein options. It’s shocking how high in protein some foods are that I would’ve never guessed. I alternate between tempeh, tofu, eggs, protein bars/shakes, chickpea pasta, protein pasta, etc.

Do I have any fellow vegetarian’s in the house?!!! Comment below!
